This project explores the intricate relationship between science and religion. While religion is often perceived as "spiritual, superstitious, and emotional" and science as "calm, exact, and objective," these categories are not mutually exclusive. The dialectical reasoning found in religion can align with the scientific spirit, and when science is regarded as the sole path to understanding the world, it can take on the qualities of religious authority.
Through the lens of visual symbolism, this project juxtaposes scientific symbols within religious visual forms and presents religious concepts using scientific infographics. By intertwining these systems, I aim to highlight the complex relationship between the two fields, challenging the boundaries we typically associate with them.
My goal is to provoke thought on the convergence of science and religion, which are often seen as opposing forces—one cold and clinical, the other warm and emotional. Through this project, I hope to transcend these distinctions by offering the audience a visual experience that feels scientific in nature yet evokes religious and metaphysical connotations.
